Fatma is a 25 year old Turkish Kurdish photographer and director. To live free from the traditional ties of her patriarchal family she run off to Italy. There she fell in love with Davide, an Italian, whom she wants to marry. Yet in her family marriages have always been arranged, and her father, with four daughters to handle, is determined to respect traditions! After years of secrets Fatma decides to go back to Istanbul determined to tell her father she wants to marry Davide.  Narrated by Fatma herself, Almost Married  takes us on Fatma's personal journey to face her father: an intimate voyage into the life of Turkish women, their approach to marriage, men and love, as Fatma struggles to come to terms with her father.  Meanwhile, Davide and his family arrive in Istanbul ready to meet the “in-laws”... Fatma is running out of time to come clean to her father.
